Grant's Farm

Grant who?  Ulysses S Grant's farm, a president of the United States, that is.

He summered in St. Louis, Missouri and had quite a spread there.  Around the turn of the 20th century the Anheiser Busch family or corporation bought the farm and it's been open to the public for decades.

We started off with a tram tour of a deer park--lots of deer and good commentary from our guide.  This fence top (the upper uprights) was made from gun barrels!
The most interesting part for the girls was the goat feeding area.  You could get 4 ounce bottles of baby goat formula to feed the (satiated by then) kids.  The bottles were exactly the same Evenflo bottles and nipples I used to feed my older children and I'll bet more than one has made its way into a child's mouth.

This was Sophia moments later.  Just add water.
