That sounds better than, "I'm a slow tap dance learner," doesn't it? Here is a short, two measure foot routine that has stumped me!
If you peek in my office window, you'll see me practicing this routine while sitting in my chair, my feet barely touching the floor. Once I get it in my head, putting it on the floor with tap shoes on will not be a problem!
Luckily for me this one is a little easier . . . .
Same thing with a little tap in between.
Here is a whole dance our class is learning this semester. The woman you can mostly see in the vidoe is not really doing the dance right; look at the teacher in the front!
. . . and now I'm waiting for the "I want a horse" speech. Doesn't every girl want to take ballet lessons and/or riding lessons? I know I wanted both when I was in grade school.
Elizabeth has taken a sudden interest in ballet. Luckily she has a Kindle Fire and was able to look up dance positions and read about the suggested equipment.
She started the day with a big bun in her hair which was then decorated for dancing.
She added a twirly skirt, top, and tights to approximate a tutu and tights. She was dying to have something like ballet shoes and I suddenly remembered I had some old ones in my closet. She dug them out and with a few adjustments had a pair of ballet shoes that made her happy. Me too.
This Groupon came across my email yesterday and dh and I decided--what the heck?!--to buy it. We have never taken dance lessons together before, although I took quite a few in college and dh dabbled in it then as well.
I bought the option that gives the two of us five group lessons.
The best part is what has held us back for years--the girls are old enough to stay home with Grandma and so we don't have to worry about a babysitter. :-)
