Dr. Travis Stork says the average cold lasts 7 days . . .

. . . and I say, "In my dreams."

I've had a cold since the beginning of February.  It changed toward the end of  February and I think it went from cold #1 to cold #2 then.  I was 95% better about ten days ago when a sore throat, coughing, and suspicious ear pain started.  Maybe I can make it last a whole two months?

Whine.

Chicken washing

Spot does not feel good.  She is weak and isn't eating well.  She needed a bath and Eizabeth decided to take care of the task.  I would have done it differently, but I appreciated that Elizabeth saw a need and took care of it.
Even after wrapping Spot up in a towel to dry her, she was really heavy with wet feathers.  No camera caught it but she enjoyed a nice blow-drying with a warm dryer.  Well, as much as a sick, wet chicken can enjoy anything.

This was actually last Saturday and she spent the next day in a plastic tub in the house and then on the back porch being coddled.  I wonder if being the lowest chicken in the pecking order is causing stress that has led to her being ill?  We did not think she would be alive a week later, but she is hanging in there.

Rare, rare day for me.

This is how I feel today:
Nothing else to say.  I'm done with work and going to bed.

Sniffle, sniffle

I haven't had a cold for a couple of years so I guess I was overdue, but I'm still annoyed to be kind of laid up with a bad cold. Everything is running and I have a few aches and pains. I don't think it's influenza. Luckily I have my arsenal of feel-goods. Even better, the only thing I paid more than just the tax on was the Kleenex. I paid 9 cents for the box.
I'll be downing the cough syrup and sucking on cough drops today and taking it easy. You know, that sounds kind of appealing. Maybe I should get a cold more often.
