Why I got annoyed and how I got free groceries

See this?
You see one package, right?
And you see the price which is $2.59 and then a 50% discount, right?

Why, why, why, when I got home did my receipt say I had two of them at full price?

I immediately turned around and drove the mile back to the grocery store and had a chat with customer service. I (politely) told the CSR that most stores give you the item for free when the store makes a pricing error. She looked a little comtemplative, then said, "Okay."

So minus one for me: I had to drive back to the store. And plus one for me: I got free groceries.

We didn't go to IHOP, we went to AHOP this morning!

Our last name starts with an A, so I told the girls we went to AHOP for breakfast this morning. Yesterday I made a big stack of crepes for a PTA function being held early this morning, so once I had the PTA ones done, I just kept going. I pulled some frozen blackberries out of the freezer, cut up some fresh strawberries, sprinkled on a little sugar, and there was my filling. As I assembled each one, I spread a little sour cream on before spooning in the berries.
I added some sliced oranges from our backyard tree, along with some kiwi and it was a fantastic breakfast!

Meal Plan Sunday

Monday: Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This was really good--perhaps a tad bit too sour. Easy to make and will make again.

Tuesday: Southwestern skillet with cornbread

Wednesday: Easy Freezable Beef Enchiladas, rice

Thursday: Tomato and spinach pasta toss, salad

Friday: Breakfast pizza

Saturday:  for the freezer--homemade rolls

Holly made the girls red velvet cakes with cream cheese frosting. They were delicious!
The girls are ten years old. It's hard to remember the sleepless nights baby twins brought to my house a decade ago, because I'm so pleased with the lovely young girls they are becoming.
I love being their mother.

Birthday girls

Caroline and Elizabeth celebrated their birthdays this week. Today we took them to get their hair done. Elizabeth has had long hair for years, but she wanted it short. Caroline didn't want her hair cut, but she wanted it styled to look like her curly-haired sister's. They both look so cute in their new hairstyles!

It's trash night!

I've heard some folks call it "garbage eve."  Hehe, I like that, but I just don't like the word "garbage" very well.  The main trash goes into a very large can in the alley.  300 gallons if I remember right.  The recycling is mixed.  Isn't it nice how everything is together in one barrel and I don't have to separate anything?
I just wheel it down to the middle of the driveway where it is out of the way of all the cars and easy for the truck to pick it up. I love empty trash cans!

Then and now

When dh and I went to Idaho, we visited Ricks College where we met over 30 years ago in an English class.  Since that time, the college has transformed itself from a two year college to a four year university and been renamed Brigham Young University-Idaho.

We noticed the place we're standing has two little footpaths, so we're guessing we're not the first folks to hail a passerby and have our picture taken.

Then dh and I went around and found the apartments in which we used to live. This is where dh lived:
Next we went to the dormitories and found my old front door:
It was a really fun trip down memory lane for both of us!

Wedding pictures!

We had a grand weekend in Idaho at David and Alicia's wedding. Bill and I flew up on Thursday and the wedding was Saturday.

Those beloved extras in the last picture are Bill's parents.  Sure do love them!
